Caleb Stevens: is our Labour Party Candidate for Okehampton Rural division:
As a Teaching Assistant at Okehampton College, for students with special educational needs and challenging behaviour, and a Regional Ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust, I have an increased understanding of how people with perceived barriers are stereotypically limited in life. Division belongs in mathematics, not the educational learning of our county’s students.
It is my belief that the people of Devon deserve to be heard. We have all witnessed dramatic cuts to valuable local services such as Education, social care, public transport and our health services due to the Conservatives who took control of the County Council in 2013. With these cuts, the people of Devon are forced to pay increased Council Tax. But is this Council Tax being spent fairly? The damaging cuts suggest otherwise. Devon deserves better! I may be young, but that does not mean I do not have wise ideas. We may be a small town with small parishes, but that does not mean we can’t have big ambitions.''
