Closure of Tracey Vale

Want to persuade Devon County Council not to close Tracey Vale Care Home in Bovey Tracey? Send your comments before midnight tonight, and let us know your reaction...

Email  resfeedback@devon.gov.uk if you agree with the views of local resident Lisa;
Locality - I believe Tracey Vale provides care within the community it serves.  Removing it from Bovey Tracey would be mean further journeys to visit relatives - correlating to less visits and connection between residents and cared ones.
Disruption - Current residents will be subjected to a significant change in routine and environment.  This could have a negative impact on their health and general well-being.
Local employment - It is likely that the employment of local individuals will be affected.  Tracey Vale acts as a local employer (and thus part of the economy) and will be sorely missed.
Inappropriate Cost-Cutting - I believe that making the financial costs as the main driver over these residents care is inappropriate in this case.  I believe that their care should be provided locally for all of the reasons above plus compassion by offering consistency in environment and staffing.

The Consultation process is now underway. It would be very sad to see this local facility closed as our nearest one will be in Newton Abbot.
