Danny Barnes: is the Labour Party Candidate for: Cullompton & Bradninch division:
Statement to support selection – Danny Barnes
My name is Danny Barnes, I’m a committed and enthusiastic 21-year-old who has recently graduated with First Class honours in Sociology. I have lived in Cullompton for over 7 years and I have witnessed the growth and development of many areas of the town. I am interested in standing as a Labour candidate as I believe that the skills and qualities I have acquired during my time in academia, and in voluntary and working customer service roles, will enable me to effectively serve the people of Cullompton and Bradninch.
I was recently co-opted to Cullompton Town Council, where I am a member of the Parish’s Planning and Licensing, General Purposes and Community Well-being Committees. On the council, I speak passionately on behalf of the issues that concern residents in the Parish, contributing to the formation of council policy and plans through active involvement in council meetings.
As a young person who is engaged in the local community, I believe that I can bring a level of dynamism and help to involve people from a range of backgrounds, accommodating the beliefs of different groups within the community. I am an active, engaged and committed individual and I believe I would make an excellent Labour candidate in the upcoming elections.
Thanks for taking the time to consider my candidacy, I look forward to working with you to deliver a Labour vision to our local communities.
