I am one of the disenfranchised who will NOT be able to attend this ‘Supporting Nomination Meeting for the Labour Party Leadership Contest’ tomorrow having recently rejoined the Labour Party after more than 22 years abstention due to the election of Tony Blair in 1994… who I felt would/could no longer represent my own personal & political ideology.
My return to the party and renewed interest in politics has therefore been stimulated by the election of Jeremy Corbyn as the leader of the Labour party who’s pro-social agenda does indeed represent my own moral and ethical perspective.
Having no other means of expressing my overwhelming support for Jeremy Corbyn as our continued party leader I have therefore clearly voiced my opinion here in the hope that others like me may also register their nominal support for our CLP’s overall consideration when deciding who they/we will officially support in the upcoming leadership contest.
Lastly, I would like to express my disappointment and dismay regarding the NEC’s unprofessional and incompetent handling of recent procedural Labour Party events regarding not only more than a 100,000 new members who have been seemingly disenfranchised from our party… but also for the embarrassing and demeaning disarray in which we now find ourselves as a viable political party.
I therefore trust that we as an organization will now finally unite behind our chosen party leader at the upcoming election and remove the opposition from power as quickly and professionally as possible.
