Lisa Robillard Web

Lisa Robillard Web is the Labour Party Candidate for Bovey Rural Division:

Becoming a County Councillor in Devon is a key way I could bring alive the much needed Labour Party’s policies and values to my area.  Central Devon has borne the brunt of austerity and it needs Labour representatives such as us to fight on its behalf for the services that we deserve.

As a Labour Councillor I would hope to represent all local residents alongside being a positive advocate for the Labour Party.  I have stood for six elections in the Bovey Tracey area and worked tirelessly to raise the profile of the Labour Party in the local area.  I have tried to instil confidence in the Party and worked locally during the General Election 2015 and EU Referendum for Labour In.  I have built connections throughout the local Party network and with the local political scene.  I have stood in local elections in the genuine hope that I could be elected to serve the people (guided under Labour values).

I am particularly passionate about such issues as children & mental health, retaining local, vital services such as women's refuges, hospitals, libraries etc and advocating the needs of semi-rural areas within the Labour Party.  I work in the local primary school as a Mealtime Assistant and regularly volunteer at the school.  I live and work from the centre of Fore Street in Bovey Tracey but have family, friend and work connections throughout the Bovey Rural area. I am currently helping to renew our town's Fairtrade Status. Being an active member of my community, I am in touch with the needs and views of a wide range of our residents.

My work background gives me a range of experience to share with voters - equestrian groom, waitress, receptionist, qualified personnel officer & facilitator, stay-at-home mum and self employed business owner.  As a result of my experience at work, I particularly enjoy working within groups.   This should prove useful if elected to the County Council, especially when you are in the minority and your voice needs to be heard.

I stood for County Election in 2013 and I am proud to have a further opportunity to represent the Labour Party in the Bovey Rural Area.
