There were several very welcome new faces alongside the more familiar at the Central Devon AGM last night. We received reports from our Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Agent about the year that saw a campaign, a general election and a new leader. In line with the Party as a whole, Membership in Central Devon has increased dramatically in the last year, and all agreed that this is an opportunity to be seized so that our campaigns in 2016 can make a real difference.
We will meet again in January to debate our strategy and how we will deliver it, and it is hoped that even more Members will contribute to that.
The effects of cuts to the Health Service, Police and Local Councils have all been in the news this week and there was passionate debate about them on the BBC's "Question Time" when I got home after the AGM. It's great to think we have plenty of energy and passion of our own now, right here in Central Devon.
